This past weekend our family went to the Hershey Park in the Dark in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Since we have a 2 year old, it was the perfect Halloween event…lots of rides and pumpkins, but no scary gore!
We had an AMAZING time and I’m Jack has totally inherited my love of roller-coasters, because we had to tear him away from the park at the end of the day.
Hershey, Pennsylvania is about a 2 ½ hour drive from our home, so we left in the morning to get to the park around lunchtime. We knew that the weekend was going to be a little on the cold side, so we bundled up before going to the park. Of course, we could have used some hats and gloves too, but hindsight is 20/20!
Since Jack had a growth spurt over the summer, he fit into the Hershey’s Kiss height marker… which means he was able to ride an impressive amount of rides!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the day. You can check out a few more on my Pocketful of Joules Instagram.
Yeah this kid totally isn’t having fun at all…
Jack is totally impressed by the 765 pound Great Pumpkin…it’s even too heavy for the pallet that it’s sitting on!
This may be my favorite new daddy and kiddo picture!
After riding all of the rides for hours and hours, we decided to go and check out the indoor Hershey ride where they show you how all the chocolates are made. Jack was entranced by the music, singing cows and candy machines. And um…I totally was too. The best part is that they give you a nice, fresh piece of Hershey’s candy to enjoy on your way out.
We also did some Trick or Treating throughout the building, where the candy didn’t even make it into Jack’s bag because he kept eating them all.
Even though it was Hershey Park IN THE DARK, we didn’t actually experience the event at nighttime since we left to get dinner at the Hershey Grill. If you’re ever in the area, we have intensely enjoyed it when we’ve visited the last few years. Here I am with my Peanut Butter Cup martini… YUM YUM!
A great big THANK YOU to our friends at Hershey for providing us tickets so that we could enjoy the weekend. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back next year!
Disclaimer: Hershey provided us with tickets to Hershey Park After Dark, however all thoughts and yummy noises are all my own.
