Top 10 Cheap and Easy Valentine’s Gifts To Make Her Swoon

You know, guys, you aren’t the only ones who like it cheap and easy.

Showing your special someone that she’s your special someone doesn’t need to break the bank or require a masters in design or psychology.

Just make a fuss about how important we are to you.

Just make one of these 10 Valentines.

#10.  Buy a fancy vintage tea cup and saucer at a second hand or thrift store.  Fill the cup with foiled chocolate hearts.  Put fancy tea bags around the saucer.  Wrap it in cellophane (like an Easter basket has around it), and tie it at the top with a pretty red ribbon.  Attach a note that includes “You’re my cup of tea! I love you, Valentine!”

#9.  Cut 25 red and pink hearts, each at least a couple inches across, out of construction paper.  Write one thing you love about her on each heart. Fold loosely. Put in a new jar (buy at a discount store)(make sure it has a lid).  You can even man-it-up a bit by spray painting the lid red first, if you want to.  Stick a label on the front that says “Just A Few Of The Things I Love About You, Valentine.”  Tie red ribbon around the top.

#8.  Make her a fancy, handmade Valentine.  Get doilies and glitter and everything involved.  Do it in the garage to surprise her.  And, to keep the mess out of the house.  Extra points if you mail it to her office. Double points if it has a picture of the two of you on it.

#7.  Give her an empty vacuum cleaner box or empty dish gloves box or some other empty chore related box, wrapped in Valentine gift paper (or make your own using brown paper or butcher paper and drawing hearts all over it).  Put a note inside the box telling her you appreciate how much she does for you and that you want her to have more time for herself, so you’ll be doing all the vacuuming (or dishes or whatever) for the next month.  Then, not only do it, but when you’re done each time, ask her if you’re done.  The real gift here is showing you value her and her standards.

Using pretty red ribbon, attach a note that says “I get a charge out of you, Valentine.”

#5.  Finish something.  What is that one thing that she nags…er uh…reminds  you about finishing?  That one thing you’ve been putting off?  Finish it!  And, do it just the way she wanted.  Then, hang a note up that says, “I will never finish loving you, but tell me some unfinished projects you want completed, and I’ll finish one each month.”  Then, do it!

#4.  Ask her what she would do if she had 2 hours to spend on herself right then, with no responsibilities.  After she tells you, ask her to go wait in your bedroom with the door closed, because you have a surprise for her.  Then, stealthily load the kids in the car, leave any needed cash or credit cards on the counter for her, and get the heck out of there for at least 3 hours.

Call her from your cell phone after you’re out of your neighborhood, and tell her where to find a note, which you attached to a bottle of bubble bath and a sleeping mask, and hid earlier.  It should say something like “This time is for you.  Do something just for you.  Don’t worry about us.  We’ll be gone at least 2 hours.  Enjoy, Valentine!”

#2.  Decorate a shoe box to hold Valentines, like you did back in grade school.  Then, buy several packages of kids Valentines and address each one to her, being sure to include a fun comment on each. Fill the box to over flowing.  Some of the pencil or candy kind of Valentines will make it even more fun.

#1.  Buy the spiciest bottle of hot sauce you can find.  Use a pretty red ribbon to attach a note that says, “This is hot, but you’re hotter.  Thank you for spicing up my life, Valentine.”

Use any of these 10 ideas as is or as a spring board to come up with more of your own to celebrate the one you love!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Do you have some ideas to add to my list?  What’s something cheap and easy you loved that someone did to celebrate you?  Shoot me a comment.  I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.

PS – Yes, pretty red ribbon and cellophane are cheap details that make your gift look grand.  You can get cheap rolls of pretty red ribbon and cellophane at most discount stores. Hang onto the extra ribbon. You can use it for upcoming occasions. Same with the cellophane.
