DIY Simple Birdfeeders Backyard Projects - Dads Round Table

This is a great backyard project for kids who like to get their hands dirty, and there are all kinds of ways to do it. You can make a simple, short-term feeder by slathering a pinecone in peanut butter and then dusting it with bird seed; or you can create a feeder clay by mixing bird seed with gelatin and cornstarch. (Kids love squishing their hands in it.) Then, cut them into shapes with cookie cutters, poke a hole for the string, and leave them to air dry. You can make a dozen of these in half an hour, and hang them up all over your yard to bring the birds.
